Statement of Faith

We acknowledge a belief in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.(1) We proclaim together, “Jesus died, and rose again”(2) and “Jesus is Lord.”(3) In Jesus Christ, the love, mercy, and grace of God are made known to all people.(4) From this abundance of God’s love, we find our call to ministry. We desire Him to be central in our individual and corporate lives.

We believe that God is the author and creator of all life(5) and that we are created in His image and likeness.(6) As such, we believe and affirm that all life has inherent value, worth and dignity because it is created by God.(7) On the basis of this inherent value, we seek to protect and care for life in all stages of God’s creation, from conception to natural death.

We believe and affirm that life begins at conception.(8) Accordingly, we believe that our expression of love and service to God requires that we work to protect and honor life in all stages of creation. As such, we view life from conception to birth uniquely vulnerable and we work to protect life in those early stages.

We believe that abortion is the killing of an unborn child(9) and causes irreparable harm, physically and emotionally to the mother. We believe that contraceptives and the use of abortifacient medications should never be recommended and are contrary to God’s plan for human sexuality.(10) Our belief is that sexual abstinence before marriage is the best choice for women in order to foster healthy relationships and sexual integrity.(11) For married women, we seek to educate and empower them to use the fertility methods of natural family planning.

We believe God creates each person as either male or female, and that these two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God.(12) We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture.(13)

We affirm the inherent dignity and humanity of all women who come to us in need and recognize the difficult circumstances in which they have been placed. It is our call in service to our Lord Jesus Christ that we offer all women who seek our services nonjudgmental care, compassion and respect.
